dear baby bennett,

today is your due date.
though i expect to carry you well past this day,
how i have savored and cherished these last 40 weeks with you.


we celebrated at the sight of two strong lines in september.
just weeks later, we cried isaiah 26:3 when we thought we'd lost you.



in october, we rejoiced at the music of your beating heart.
you made our christmas so merry finding that you were a boy.



you've got lots of belly kisses from your big brother.
and made mama laugh at your crazy belly moves.



i love that you are a spring baby.
there has been heart burn and fatigue.
but every physical sacrifice has been worth it.



so now we wait.

longing to hold you.
to kiss your sweet face.
swaddle your tiny body snug.
count your fingers and toes.
to meet our sweet bennett james.
